Özyeğin University (ÖzÜ) welcomed its first students in September 2008 on its Istanbul Altunizade city campus and expanded into a campus university in October 2011, constructing Turkey’s first green campus with a LEED certificate in Çekmeköy. Özyeğin University is a non-profit, state-recognized higher education institution supported by the Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation.

Launched in 1990, the Hüsnü M. Özyeğin Foundation aims to support the continual development of Turkey’s educational system. In addition to providing scholarships to academically successful students studying both in Turkey and abroad, the Foundation has built primary schools, high schools, and dormitories for girls attending secondary school in impoverished regions of the country, while also undertaking various projects in the areas of healthcare and culture.

Özyeğin University is the Foundation’s largest educational undertaking.

Getting Ready to Apply – Knowing the Undergraduate Application Process (http://www.ozyegin.edu.tr/ULUSLARARASI/Full-Time-International-Students/Home)

Before starting your application form, you will be asked to set up an account, with a user name and password. Make sure to write down your username and password so that you will have it when you log on again.  If for any reason you are not able to complete the application in one sitting, you will be able to click “save” and then log off.  This will save your information until you are ready to continue.

You will not be able to submit your application until all documents have been uploaded and all required fields have been filled in. We encourage you to apply as soon as your application is complete in order to secure your spot.  Complete applications are reviewed on a continuous basis.  You will hear back from the University approximately 3 weeks after we receive your complete application.

Regular Application deadline is August 15, 2014:

You will be asked to upload the following documents, so you need to have scanned versions of each of these ready for upload:

1. Passport (personal information page)

2. Official document signifying successful completion of high school – diploma in many countries (if it is not in English or Turkish, it must be translated)

3. Official high school transcript national or internationally recognized test results or provisional results if not available by the time of submission.

4. English language proficiency test results if available.

5. Statement of Motivation – you will be asked to prepare an essay explaining why you want to attend Özyeğin University and what your goals are.  This essay should be approximately 200-300 words in length.  It can be prepared as a “Word” or “PDF” document, which you will upload.

– The soft copies of the original documents and their translated versions need to be uploaded together.

Important Note: Strong “Motivation letter” will increase your chance of getting a scholarship or even increase it.

It’s not just the world class faculty members and student community that make Özyeğin University the place to be-it’s also
Özyeğin University’s state of the art facilities. Çekmekoy campus is located on the Asian side of Istanbul, only half an hour away from the Bosporus Bridge.

With a total area of 15 soccer fields, it is big enough to stretch your legs but not to make you tired. The campus has all the
necessary facilities, including academic buildings, dormitories, student center, a sports center and open air sport facilities, to stimulate active learning in a vibrant multicultural atmosphere. Designed by the leading architecture firm RMJM, our Çekmeköy Campus takes pride in being the first green campus in Turkey.

Housing Facilities
Özyeğin University residence halls offer a modern, comfortable, living environment as well as facilities and services to ensure an efficient study atmosphere. It also provides you with benefits such as being close to study areas and sports facilities. International students are given priority in housing assignments. School shuttle buses provide transportation between the residence halls and the campuses and from Çekmeköy campus to several destinations throughout the city. Our Çekmeköy Student Residence Hall is located on the Çekmeköy campus and all facilities have been recently built. Currently Çekmeköy Campus housing facilities include 4 Residence Halls. The standard size of each room is 24 m2. One and 2-person rooms include an en-suite bathroom, regular beds, nightstands, TV units, desks and chairs. 3-person rooms with bathrooms are furnished with a bunk beds, a regular bed and mattresses while 3-person rooms without bathrooms have three units of full loft beds. 4-person rooms do not have en-suite bathrooms and are furnished with double-deck beds.

Both Halls feature low-cost laundry rooms with washing, drying and ironing services, free cleaning (on a scheduled basis),
individual and group study rooms, free cable TV halls, cafeteria and dining halls with breakfast and dinner services and a common lounge.
