Üsküdar, being one of the oldest settlements in Istanbul,  had been beautified by many architectural works  throughout Ottoman era. Üsküdar district in that period  was furnished with various remarkable  mosques and their precincts, hammams, fountains; and bank of the Bosphorus along Üsküdar was   full of palaces, yalis and mansions. Maiden’s Tower is one of the most exceptional buildings in this district.
Located at the very heart of the city,  transportation  to and from Üsküdar  via Marmaray, IDO Turyol and Sea Cabs from Üsküdar pier is quite easy.  Additionally, Boğaziçi Bridge via Metrobus or other vehicles is another transportation option with a spectacular Istanbul landscape ahead.

Üsküdar University, founded by IDER (Foundation of Human Values and Mental Health), embodies four faculties, one Vocational School of Health Services, three Institutes for Graduate studies, twelve Research and Application Centers.
Üsküdar University provides educational services in three campuses, Altunizade North and South Campus and Üsküdar Çarşı Campus.

Üsküdar University has 12 Research and Application centers and 30 research and development  lab in an indoor area of 1600 m2 .
Üsküdar University offers graduate, undergraduate and associate degree programs  to 2400 students with 176 faculty members.
Facilities
We have a student dormitory  for female students as close as 200 meters to the main campus which has 26 rooms for 76 students. Other than the University’s dorm, there are other state and private dorms in walking distance.
All campuses are of smart buildings;  every single room has smart boards and connected to network. We have 100 mbit/s fiber  network. All classroom doors have LCD screens informing about the class, the instructor and students inside.
Students use hi-tech  computer labs for their courses. In the electronic library  students have access to various online sources with PC s and MACs.
Üsküdar University İbrahim Tarhan Library offers  our students and staff whatever they  need  with 20 000 printed and 8 electronic and 35 free-access online sources.
Nermin Tarhan  Hall, equipped with hi-tech systems, houses conferences, seminars and other academic programs while two other multi-purpose lounges covers smaller scale events or concurrent  sessions.
In 30 Students Clubs, Students enjoys cultural, sports activities practised.

Foreign National Status
On the condition that they are in the final grade of high school or have graduated from high school:
Applicants;
a) International students
b) Those who hold Turkish citizenship by birth and renounced their Turkish citizenship, and their
children under 18 who are listed in the renouncement document but documenting their certification
for rights mentioned in the Turkish Citizenship Law, no: 5901, Item 7, stating that “Anyone born,
either in Turkey or abroad, in the marriage of a Turkish mother or father, is a Turkish citizen.”
Candidates who wish to apply within the “applications from abroad” category should examine the
Turkish Citizenship Law.
c) Those who hold citizenship of other countries by birth and have gained the citizenship of The
Republic of Turkey / those who hold dual-citizenship,
d) Those who hold the citizenship of the Republic of Turkey but have completed their high school
education in another country including those who have completed their high school education in a
Turkish institution in another country except TRNC,
e) Those who hold the citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, who reside in the
TRNC and have completed their secondary education in TRNC, and who have a GCE AL exam score, as
well as those who have been enrolled in and educated in a college or high school other than in TRNC
between 2005-2010 and who hold or will hold GCE AL exam score,
may apply.

Candidates;
a) who hold the citizenship of The Republic of Turkey, and have completed their secondary education
in Turkey or in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus,
b) who hold the a citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except for those who have
completed their secondary education in TRNC and hold GCE AL exam score, and those who have
been enrolled in and educated in a college or high school other than in TRNC between 2005-2010
and who hold/will hold GCE AL exam score)
c) who hold a dual citizenship, one of which is a citizenship of The Republic of Turkey by birth, as
stated in article (A) item (b) above. (except for those who have completed their high school
education in another country other than The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus/ those who have
completed their high school education in a Turkish institution in another country other than The

d) who hold a dual citizenship, one of which is a citizenship of The Turkish Republic of Northern

e) those who hold a citizenship of The Republic of Turkey or a dual citizenship, one of which is the a
citizenship of The Republic of Turkey by birth, as stated in article (A) item (b) above, and who have
completed their secondary education at institutions within an embassy or in other foreign
institutions in Turkey,
cannot apply.

Evaluation of Applications and Placement:
The evaluation process is carried out based on the scores of candidates having:
a) achieved 1000 or higher in SAT I,
b) achieved 21 or higher in ACT (American College Testing),
c) In the GCE (General Certificate Education / A Level Certificate) (at least 2 subjects) Candidates who
has taken A Level Certificate,
d) I.B. (International Baccalaureate) with a diploma score of at least 28 points according to the
program they are going to apply,
e) In the TAWJIHI examinations given in JORDAN and PALESTINE, a minimum average of 80 points out
of 100 in all courses in the Scientific Stream
f) ABITUR (German Baccalaureate) with a score of at least 4 points,
g) French Baccalaureate diploma with a diploma score of at least 12 points,
h) In the BAKALORYA (Baccalaureat Libanais) examination given in LEBANON, a diploma score of at
least 14 in the Scientific Stream,
ı) In the AL-SAHADA-AL TAHANAWIYYA given in Syria, a minimum score of 180 over 240 is related at
Scientific Stream for Engineering and Architecture Faculties, a minimum score of 170 is related from
the other programs),
i) In the GAOKAO examination given in China Republic, a minimum score of 480 over 750 points is
related from the program being applied to,
j) Recipients of gold, silver or bronze medals in International Science Olympics recognized and
participated by TUBITAK (Turkish Scientific and Research Center),
k) Indonesia Uijan Nasional (UAN) or (UN) with a score of at least 60 points,
l) Kenya Cerificate of Secondary Education with a score of at least 45 points, m) In Iran, high school diploma (Diplome Debirestan) with an avarage score of at least 12/20 and
“Pişdaneşgahi” with a final score of at least 12/20,
n) Having high school diploma ( Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Holland, Hungary, Nigeria,
Somalia, Russia, Moldovia, Azerbaijan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kirghizistan, Turkmenistan
)
o) With a success of high school graduation degree by 60%
ö) Uskudar University Proficieny Exam with a score of at least 50 points.

P.S. Of the examinations that will be used in the assessment of the application, the examinations in
the level of high school completion hold no restriction in terms of validity dates; however, exams in
the level of university entrance (SAT, etc.) have a validity of two years.

Visa Procedures:
Foreign students who wish to apply must have a student visa. If they are accepted, the university will
send them an acceptance letter.
Language of Education and English Preparatory School: If students enroll in the Preparatory School or departments tautght in English, they need to take a
proficiency and level exam. In order to enroll in their department, students must either pass the
university’s proficiency exam, passed a nationally recognized English exam, or completed another
Prepatory school English program. If students cannot pass one of these, they must complete the
university’s Preparatory program. If the department’s language is Turkish and their Turkish level is
not sufficient, they may take Turkish Language classes at the university.
Tuition:
If they are accepted, all foreign students will receive 50% scholarship.
